I have enjoyed working with Fred Hirschovits on various projects both on a personal and professional basis over the last 13 years. Fred has specific experience in developing, opening and refurbishing hotels and has always displayed a sharp financial mind on the projects we have been involved with. One specific historical refurbishment we worked together on was the historic Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

During my tenure with the City of Knoxville, I had numerous contacts with Fred Hirschovits, who at the time was General Manager of the Holiday Inn. I found Fred to be very knowledgeable about the hotel business. He was also very pleasant and accommodating, extremely important characteristics when working in the public arena.

Fred was involved in the development and opening of the 300 room, high rise, Holiday Inn World’s Fair Hotel in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was active in the installation of the furniture, fixtures and equipment, the development of the business plan, the marketing and sales strategy and staffing for the grand opening to coincide with the opening of the 1982 World’s Fair. He was also responsible for the financial projections and budget. The Hotel was a mixed use project with a 100,000 square foot convention center, state office building with shared lobbies and common areas. Fred was responsible for coordinating and working with the City of Knoxville and State of Tennessee on the shared facilities. As well as working with the banks, Fred also worked closely with the contractors and architects in seeing that the facilities were completed on schedule. Fred has a great understanding of the financial complexities involved in developing and running a new hotel. He also has an outstanding business mind and he would be an asset to any organization.

I have known Fred professionally for over 25 years and can attest that he is a highly focused and dedicated hotelier. He has a very good understanding of what it takes to develop and create market share for a new development.

We have been associated with TTWWH for the past 6 years. This company manages our USA holdings. The acquisition, renovation and operational results have been excellent. Mr. Hirschovits has appreciated the value of our holdings in a very short period of time. TTWWH has increased our cash flow by 20% and 35% respectively in three years at our U.S. properties. The company implements great sales, marketing and business strategies; strict accounting and financial controls which obviously have been successful. Due to this excellent relations with Intercontinental Hotels Group in Atlanta, he helped us secure the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza flags for our German hotels.

I’ve known and been professionally associated with Mr. Hirschovits for the last fifteen years. As part of The Hospitality Consulting Group, Inc., we research and analyze the performance of hundreds of hotels annually. I can state without qualification that Fred Hirschovits is an extremely effective operator who is able to generate both premium market penetration rates and superior operating margins. He is a highly focused and dedicated professional who understands deal making, mixed-use developments and the perspective, desires and motivation of ownership.

As the Franchise Service Director for La Quinta Inns in Florida, I have had the pleasure to work with Fred Hirschovits and his Team at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Bonita Springs, Florida. He took over the property on April 1, 2012 as an independent property with a subpar reputation in the area and the community; facilitated the Franchise Brand selection, recommended the proper contractor for the very extensive PIP. The Hotel was closed Labor Day 2012 and opened back for business only 107 days later, after a total 100% “gut job” of 87 rooms and suites; including bathtubs, vanities, toilets, all guestrooms and all public areas. The Hotel earned the La Quinta Inns Renovation Award for 2012. Within 7 weeks of the opening on December 21, 2012, during the week of February 10 2013, the Hotel achieved 100% penetration in RevPar against the comp set !!During 2013 in the fall the Hotel was achieving 150% penetration for several weeks. Scores in Customer Service, Product Quality and Recommend to Others, rated by the guest have been outstanding.For the year 2013 the Hotel was in the top 7% for the whole La Quinta Inns system in our Net Promoter score (guest will recommend to others ).In my Florida region the hotel was #6 out of 86 Hotels for 2013.Presently the Hotel is also # 1 on trip Advisor in Bonita Springs, Florida Fred’s and his Teams professionalism, sales orientation and customer service approach has been excellent.Creativity in sales, strong rate management and his participation in general has driven the results above.
